At Outside Space, we back ourselves . Therefore, if you buy a full-price item from us online but feel that the product just isn’t right, you can return your order to our warehouse for a full refund, less the cost of return shipping, provided you contact us within 10 days of your furniture delivery, and it is received by us in perfect condition. Just contact us at email@example.com and we will issue you a return authorisation and advise shipping arrangements. Please do not book shipping yourself.
Warranty & Care instructions
When specifying our ranges of outdoor furniture, we were very aware of our need to offer product that provides the best chance of success in New Zealand’s harsh and unforgiving elements. We also understand that New Zealanders have a ‘love hate’ relationship with their outdoor furniture- They buy their beautiful outdoor furniture set in the hope that ‘this one will last the distance!” but are sometimes disappointed with the lack of longevity they achieve from their purchase. This also happens with high-priced known brand products, not just the lower price point furniture.
We have done our homework and have chosen only high quality reputable materials, such as quick drying foam, Spuncrylic ™and Sunbrella ® fabric in the manufacturing process and have partnered with established manufacturers that supply to an impressive list of retail and direct clients worldwide (one of our manufacturers supplies outdoor furniture to one of the major cruise liners).
We back ourselves, our manufacturers, and the materials used in the manufacturing of our furniture. As such, our powder-coated aluminium frames are covered by a 2-year warranty against defective or faulty workmanship. Our Sunbrella fabric has a 5-year warranty against sun fade, and Spuncrylic has a 3-year warranty against sun fade. The warranty excludes other weather-related wear and tear or damage because of lack of care & maintenance by the purchaser. This warranty applies to the original purchaser of our Outside Space furniture.
Please read the care instructions below to ensure you get the most value from your outdoor furniture. Even the best products and manufacturing processes can’t negate the long-term effect of the sun, sand, salt, and moisture that we endure here in NZ, especially if the product is exposed to our elements for extended periods of time.
Starting with a high-quality product is important to ensure the longevity of your outdoor furniture but is not a substitute for good care and maintenance, and your product will degrade over time if you allow it to happen.
Here are some guidelines to maintain and protect your outdoor furniture:
Keep your outdoor furniture in a covered environment whenever possible
Store in a dry place out of the sun in the off season or when not in use.
If you don’t have space for storage, invest in quality outdoor furniture covers, designed to fit your furniture.
Store your squabs and cushions out of the elements when not in use. Spuncrylic ® and Sunbrella ® are both highly water resistant but not waterproof. They are also both engineered to resist mold and mildew. However, over time, any material that is constantly wet or damp, or unclean from dirt/bird droppings, pollen, plant material will eventually deteriorate in appearance and integrity. Despite our best efforts, ultimately, Mother Nature will prevail if you let her.
Powder-coated aluminium frame furniture is the ‘solid citizen’ of outdoor furniture because it is so durable and reliable (which is why we’ve selected this product), However, scratches in the powder coating exposes the aluminium to the air/salt air which can lead to oxidisation. In short- try not to drag your outdoor furniture across rough terrain, and don’t use abrasive cleaners or scrubbies to clean the frame of your furniture.
Keep an eye out and regularly brush off to bits of dry dirt on your cushions and frame.
Nothing beats soapy water and a clean sponge, for both your fabric and frame.
You can use stain remover on our fabrics. Follow the instructions on the bottle
Avoid abrasive cleaners at all cost.
Orders & Returns
At Outside Space, we back ourselves.. Therefore, if you buy any full-price product from us online and for any reason you are not delighted with your purchase, you can return your order to our warehouse for a full refund, less return shipping, provided you contact us within 10 days of your furniture delivery.
Because our business is primarily an online store, we offer this return policy to provide assurance to our online customers. This gives you the freedom to ‘click and try’ our outdoor furniture with confidence.
How it works:
Just contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a return so we can get the ball rolling. Please do not book shipping yourself.
When the furniture is received and signed for by us at our warehouse, we’ll check it, and provided it’s been returned in most of its original packaging, and it is unused, we’ll refund you within 5 days of receipt, less the cost of return shipping.
A. Yes, unless you’ve arranged for pick up from our Panmure warehouse.
A. Yes, if damage occurs during delivery.
A. Usually all orders will be dispatched within 1-2 working days from receipt of payment
A. This is preferred. We won’t deliver your furniture to a location and leave them unsigned unless you’ve given us written permission (at your risk), to do so.
A. If you have been notified that your delivery will occur on a particular day and you are not there when the truck arrives, you will be charged a redelivery fee. This must be paid before your goods will be redelivered to you.
A. In the Auckland region, for smaller sets, we can try to accommodate your request for delivery times.
A. This is something that you need to measure and check carefully prior to making your purchase. If you are buying an item that is quite big you should check your door clearance and any other entrances first. Please note we will deliver to the ground level of our home.
A. We have one furniture set that would work well for smaller spaces, such as an apartment balcony. This set would fit in a lift, but please make sure you have arranged building access, and you are there to assist.
